Kansas City Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise issued a statement on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of claims of abuse made public in online accounts by a ex-partner of wide receiver the athlete and had been in communication with the NFL.
The team omitted the name of Rice specifically in their announcement and said they would have “no further comment at this time”.
Claims Shared on Social Media
The woman, who likewise did not name Rice by name, posted a set of images on social media that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the individual in question was the parent of her kids, and reports indicate she has two children with the football player, whom the team selected in the second round.

No police reports were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Player's Recent Legal Issues
Rice was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a crash on a Dallas highway that left several individuals hurt. He was given 30 days in jail and five years’ probation after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
On the field, Rice finished the season with 53 catches for 571 yards and five TDs as the Kansas City went 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
