Mohamed Salah Offers Statement to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones has disclosed that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the group of players in the wake of the fallout from his public comments.

What Happened

He was omitted from a key Champions League match following voicing frustrations and claiming his rapport with Arne Slot had soured.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”

Arne Slot has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the veteran striker.

Looking Ahead

Jones insisted that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” he continued.

Jones also suggested that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “I get that there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just sit out, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

Positive Results

Their results have stayed unbeaten in the period after the situation. Jones believes the forward's comments were not designed to destabilise the squad.

“If passion has boiled over, the source has been from a desire to win,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, performing and securing victories.”
